Visited my 84 year old, wood cutting, father this weekend in the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA. And while there, we took a morning trip to meet Eric who I met on the forum. We got a great tour of his place, discussed our gear, and got to put a name with a face. Maybe he and my dad will find themselves cutting on the same big tree someday. This is me and Eric. This is my dad and his stacks And this is cow number 35 by my dads place, that I thought was cool
That's awesome! Great to see dad and put a face to a new friend! I have thought several times that going to a FHC GTG would be real treat. Like you said, it would be nice to put a face with some names. (or screen names Too)
After having met many members from here in person, I can honestly say we've got the best group of members anywhere of ANY FORUM on the planet. Hope to meet them again soon as well as all the others...
I'd stay away from cow 35, if I were you. I've heard a lot of bad things about her. Not to spread gossip or anything, but she is reportedly a poor milk producer. In addition, she has formed a gang with a couple other troublemakers--41 and 13. They go by the streetname "Udder Chaos".

No, he is not the electronic sort. But he still heats with wood and built that shed himself. Not bad for a guy that will be 85 in December.

That Greg and his Pop are some fine folks I tell y'all !!! It was hard to believe Greg's dad was 84! He gets around bettah than most 60-70 year olds I know!!!! Both stand up guys, no doubt about it! I can do it!
