Good for you anything that makes you happy and doesn't affect the way others have to live is a great thing. It had struck me as strange when he told me he collected wood, I have never heard of it but the knowledge he had ripping off all the Latin names of woods and then in English and telling me what the Latin words meant. I thought I was pretty smart being able to tell 8 out of 10 pieces of wood just by looking at them, guess I got "Played" For those of you not in the know that's the new phrase with kids. My daughter was taking her two boys to a water park in Lake George Sunday and when I pretended to get in the car telling my 10 year old grandson that I was going he just looked at me and said " you aren't going, you just got played" shook my head and thought to myself, whatever. Welcome to a place where the people on the board are a great group. Would also like to see some pictures of the different woods you have.

I, technically am a wood "collector". I have CSS wood all over my property and do not own a stove to burn it in.

Welcome Chopy! This is interesting stuff. I have to leave now though... somebody mentioned BEER! As Homer Simpson would say "Here's to alcohol! The cause of, and soloution to all of lifes problems!" Or somethin' close to that anyway!

I remember reading that Lignum Vitae is used for propeller shaft bearings in submarines. Crazy, huh?
