Broken Laptop for parts/repair

Most laptops use an external power supply and that is what I meant by power brick, they are usually rectangular in shape. By moving the power supply outside of the laptop, they reduce the size and weight of the unit when you don't need external power. Of course when taking the laptop on a trip, you still have to carry the power supply with you.

 

Laptops are not worth the money to repair them. For parts they are negligible at best. In most cases it's better to just recycle them.

 

I think these system had three different passwords one could set. The BIOS password probably can be removed by removing the CMOS battery; in these system, I think you have to remove the battery holder or unsolder the battery. I think the hard drive can be password protected as well and that one may be a bit harder to clear.

 

I may try looking online and see; flat rate does not matter how heavy, so that would be a good choice if possible.
