Nice stacks. That super split makes me drool... but the Fiskars and Maul keep me somewhat in shape so that will have to wait.

A spreadsheet? I know it's like money in the bank and all, but...

Nice set up. I too like to keep the splits off the ground once the splitting starts. Always throw in a trailer and not on the ground.

Cut a few cart loads today. Next two days will be in the 60's ... finally, nice cutting weather!

All red oak today, one down a very long time, the other perhaps a couple years (my dog Truman looking for something to chase).

One more of Truman and some butternut squash that will be harvested soon.

Thanks. I'm going to add a pallet to the end of each row and start working on my cribbing. I'm terrible at it, but I really like how it looks. I've been refining my splitting technique with the SS so that I am getting uniform rectangular pieces ... should help a bunch.

Good year for squash around here ... hope they store as well as last year's crop (ate the last one in April)

Harvest Man, of course one can not tell by the pictures but I'm guessing you are running an extension cord to the splitter. Also we don't know if this is a 110 or 220. Either way it probably draws a lot of juice. Just a word of caution. Make sure you are not running too long of a cord and be sure it is heavy enough so you don't burn up the motor.

That is good advice. I was concerned about this too, so I sought out some experts to help me make sure I was doing it correctly.

I am running the SS on a 100 foot 10 gauge extension cord and the motor is wired 110v. Before purchasing I called Paul McCann the owner of Super Split and confirmed this configuration was viable. Also spoke with a master electrician about it. Both confirmed I should have no problems assuming I was running on a dedicated 15 or 20 amp circuit. The Marathon 1hp motor is rated at 13.4 full load amps. When researching the SS, I found that some users had problems with circuit trips; they were usually running the 1.5 hp motor (higher FLA) on circuits with existing load. No problems so far.

The only thing I'm not thrilled about the SS is that wheeling it out from the garage to my stacks is a bit awkward. I need to attach some kind of handles to the table or some wheels to the table leg or something to make it a bit easier.

Just finished up cutting and hauling firewood from the woods! Likely won't be doing any new cutting until Jan 2016. Wanted to be out of the woods before bow hunting begins Oct 1st.

My processing piles contain rounds and four foot sections of white oak, red oak, sassafras, american elm and black cherry (elm and cherry were dead standing). Planning to noodle the big ones and buck the four footers this week and start splitting by next week. Also plan to cut up 20 oak pallets to burn this year. Currently have 1.5 cord ready to burn; hoping the elm, cherry and pallets get me up to 3 cord for this year.
