    Hey Gang,

I have a friend who I work with has "Ameri-tec" chimney pipe on his stove and he needs a 2' or 3' piece of the triple wall "non-insulated" stainless pipe.
There was a change in code and his insurance co. said he needs to go up another 2 feet.
Problem is, he can't find this stuff anywhere.

Does anyone have a hunk laying around? He will be happy to pay what is asked and shipping.
His alternative is to rip out his exsisting pipe and go new the whole way up:eek::bug:.

    Thanks all!

    Dave

    Dave,
He might want to try CL country wide. This time of year when folks are making changes to what their heating needs will be this winter, you may see some pipe on there. Folks that take stoves out will advertise the stove and the pipe as a sale together.
    Good luck to your buddy

Nate, we did find some of that, but the big one is, getting it "all" stainless, not Galv- and stainless together.

I was doing some remodeling in a home I bought... I was going to install the wood stove from my old house (All nighter "Big Moe").
I was suprised to find a triple wall stove pipe was there from a previous owner?
The outer is 14" the smaller double wall looks to be an 8" but it's missing about 3' up??
Can I just use a normal double wall and close off the outer OR do I need that for circulation?
I've never seen triple wall in the country before...

WeldrDave, if it's 'non-insulated' triple wall, is it 2100* pipe?

Not trying to be the code police, but if he's trying to appease the insurance company and bring it to code......

The problrem is adapting to what is in place in some circumstances. I don't think it's 2100, The problem with my original post was my buddy was trying to go the "cheap" way out if possible.

Eventually I talked him out of this and he "FINALLY" went all new! Finding triple wall anymore is like finding kangaroo eggs, and if the insurance company sees it and it's not grandfathered in, "forget it"! That's why most people who took it out tossed it! In The steel phoenix situation, he may just have to bite the bullet and do what my buddy did and remove and replace with new. "YUP".... It's $$$$$
