There I liked it for ya Gfier. haha. You know tractors and equipment are about the best investment if you buy it used from somebody you can trust and take care of it. It always surprises me how they hold value and often appreciate 30-40 years later. Not that many cars last long enough to compare, and only a select few are ever worth much. But tractors, skidsteers and small excavators etc., sure seem to stay in demand.

You said it Brush Ape! I wait until I find something with low hours on it. This almost guarantees I won't have problems with it. Buy it at a good price. I work it for 1-3 years and get s bunch of work done with it. Keep it under roof and take care of it. Then I can sell it for what I paid for it or even make a little bit of profit. Saves me a chitload of dough!

David Brown also built the Oliver 500 (DB 850) and 600 (DB 950) tractors in the early 1960's.

It's a '72 and had around 5,000 hrs on it when I bought it used from a local dealer. I paid $8,400 for it in the early nineties and it now has about 5,600 hrs. It also came with a big snow bucket.
Thanks everyone for all the nice compliments, it makes the project feel that much better.

Really nice job there Chris! It looks great. I'm planning on tackling this 1975 blue and yellow beast (Ford 3400) next year! Your job gives me encouragement!
