Treated myself to a new truck. My old Tundra was a 2004-thought after 11 years it was time for a upgrade. Took a month to find the one I wanted-apparently there is a shortage in the NY/PA area.
Thanks for all the compliments! Just drove it up to the Boonville show. The computer said 17.3 mpg-about the same I got from the 2004. The difference is this thing has the 5.7 engine-it runs like a race car. I did trade the 2004 in. It needed an exhaust and some emissions work, the air conditioner recharged, and new tires this fall. It was time to committ a few thousand dollars to repairs or trade-so I splurged! I may keep it long term or may consider trading it after 3-4 years. I usually keep vehicles for a long time, but the money dealers were asking for used models (I saw a couple of identical trucks that were 4 years old with 50k miles on them for $28-29,000- that is only about $7000 less than I paid for the new one)has me thinking a trade then may be a smart move, as I only put 7-8 thousand a year on a truck.
