    Peaceful day on the water........ lunch on the island...........smallmouth under that tree........... hot as heck down here, the lake certainly looks refreshing!

    We had a nice breeze when we went out but that didn't last long, we had lunch in the boat in a nice area with shade near the Ranger school.

    It was 88 when we got off, some guy at the boat ramp was dropping f bombs because his boat motor wouldn't keep running.

    On the way back we stopped at Seveys Point for a nice cold ice cream.

    Thanks for sharing the picture. Very peaceful except for the f bombs. Don't like to hear that, but I've been guilty of not being as discreet as I should have been with some other "select" words.
    We need to take a day and go someplace before the summer is over.

    We took a trip down to Waddington NY for a ride on the St.Lawrence River last week, the big Bassmaster's tournament out of Waddington started this week. We had the boat cleaned off and tagged so if we go with the boat in this area, it will have been checked for invasive species.

    I'm not sure what the average depth is but the deepest we went over was 100 foot hole not far from Cat Island shoal.

    I haven't bought my fishing license in two years but next I plan on some walleye fishing.

    Yes there is yooperdave . The only problem with living on the water especially if you have a nice home and not a seasonal camp is the taxes.

    In our town on the water, 1/2 an acre with nothing on it is assessed at $137,100.00, depth of the lot is 248 ft. x 145 ft of water frontage. :hair:

    Don't get me wrong, there are many members here who pay much higher taxes than my measly annual assessment. Its just that I pay what I can afford and try not to overspend,

    The worst thing about it, the smaller camps on the river up here are selling for crazy prices so I would think that after X amount of sales, NYS will want a new assessment on the property on the water which will mean higher taxes.

    My parents had a camp on Wilson Hill on the St.Lawrence River when we were kids, it was nothing special but we had a ton of fun, the regular Joe can't afford that for their kids anymore here in NYS.
