Changing Tip on Bar

Can the tip on the bar be changed so that a different pitch chain can be ran on the bar?

 

Yes as long as the guage is the same.

 

Yes I have converted some of the Oregon sprocket nose bars from .325 to .375.

The gauge was the same. .050

 

I changed the sprocket on my 48" bar from .404 to run 3/8. The tip I used was an Oregon and it was supposed to work with any gauge. I clamped the bar down to my drill press table and drilled out the rivets, then used a ball peen hammer to flatten the new ones.
