So anyone here a Single Action revolver fan? At noon on Sunday Lipsey's announced a new exclusive offering by Ruger, the Super Blackhawk 5 shot, bisley grip, 6 1/2" barrel, extended ejector rod, available in .480 Ruger and .454 Casull! It's amazing to me that Ruger finally built a 5 shot big bore single action revolver, the SA crowd has been begging for this for years! Thanks to the push from Lipsey's it finally came true. And for less then a grand MSRP! For decades now they only option was to send your base gun off to one of the many custom gun builders and spend a grand or more to have this gun built. Over on a single action gun forum I partisipate in the news broke on August first that Lipsey's posted teaser photos of a new exclusive gun. That thread went like wild fire until it was made official on Sunday. It was am impressive example of a company creating buzz on the net about a new item, even though it was directed to a very small sector of the market, this has the SA guys all in a tisy trying to get there hands on one... or two. This would be the equivalent of a saw maker offering porting, a muffler mod, and high end light weight bar straight from the factory! Heck I might have to sell a saw so I can get my own... yeah right... I've got SAAD (single action acquisition disorder) almost as bad as my case of CAD!
very nice , something thats not plastic or black and no need to crawl around on the ground for your empty cases. (and by the way i have nothing against black or plastic , just tired of it)
I hear ya... just had this conversation with a guy in a gun shop a week ago, nothing against the resent trend in guns, but I'm ready for the tides to change.
I agree, I actually sold my first handgun, a Glock, which was my only polymer gun, to get an all steel CZ 75 over the summer. I don't have any single action revolvers, but my nightstand and main carry guns are revolvers, and I'm itching to pick up several more. There's something much more satisfying to me when I practice with a nice revolver vs a semi-auto. I guess I'm a little old school for my age, my favorite .22's are all old single shots from the 40's too and an older High Standard revolver. I'd like to pick up a Ruger Single-Six or Bearcat someday as well
No single actions here, but I love my Smith and Wessons. I have a K-22, a 686-6 6" barrel, and a 19-3 2.5" barrel nickel plated.
Not a sa guy, but I am a stainless and wood and ruger guy. I've got a srh in 44mag. Ruger has been doing some good things lately imo.
