New stone wall behind stove

    Hey guys, just finished putting a stone wall up behind my stove tonight. Turned out better than I thought it would! Can't wait for burning season!!

    I preassembled it on the floor which helped a lot!!

    I used Hardie Backer as my substrate

    Dry stacking was a little harder than I thought it would be but overall I'm happy with how it turned out.

    Looks like you used a face stone. When I first saw your pics, I wondered that. I did similar with brick. Since doing that I've wondered whether a full field stone would have provided for better heat retention. Every little bit helps.

    By the way, it looks great. Thanks for sharing.

    They are technically concrete so I'm sure they will hold a little heat :fire:
