That looks just like a didier splitter. They are solid units. That one has a newer Honda on it.

Buy it. That's a good deal. My buddy has a didier. It's low, but well built, and the other issue is the hydro tank is small, buy it never lets us down. It splits everything, even knotty un splittable by hand elm.

    Here's the didier IMG_20150525_115146802.jpg
I think didier made the Montgomery ward ones.

My neighbor had one and it was a solid unit but it's a back buster unless U do something like Stinny did with his splitter.

My neighbor sold it for $125.00.

I'd do it. I've got car ramps and put splitter tires on ramps to get it higher. Just an idea.

With my buddies, we will just raise it up with some welding fun, and make a table to hold logs. The short working height will kill your back if you don't think ahead. A pickeroon, to get rounds to you without getting up from the seat would be a great help.

I saw that one on there. The motor might make it worth it depending on its shape.

I would start at 250 and hopefully get it for 300. Def needs tires, new handle on recoil string it looks like. I'd look it over real good before settling on a price.

My grandfather had one like that it came from sears. Same color too. I helped split a lot of wood with it.

That looks like a pretty good deal to me, if it starts and runs id score it for sure.

Looks like a fair deal but man, my back hurts just looking at those things. A lot less work than an axe though.

image.jpg This is very similar to the didier splitter. I raised it and lengthened it and added some wings and a table to keep the wood from falling back to the ground. Does about 20 cord each year.

Nice work tree killer, doesn't look like you have very much invested in it terms of materials used in modifying it.

It's pretty much a mongrel but functional. Got the splitter free with no motor 10 years ago. Put a motor from a broken push mower on it. All the other stuff was just leftovers from jobs so no real investment in it.

I picked up the splitter and did some splitting with it this afternoon. I'm happy with how it works, it split the nasty stuf that I haven't been able to do by hand. I tried to post some pictures but when I hit the choose choose images button, nothing happens.

That happens to me a lot too, I'm on an old iPad. If I try it a few times I can usually get it to work, I think it has something to do with where the "choose photo" pop up window appears in relation to what's behind it on the screen.
