Ya think this might be a problem? While driving home from the market I caught this out the corner of my eye and had to do a double take and another drive by.Not photo shopped or anything . right next to the road. If this bad boy lets loose it could be an issue for the homeowner......
Well that is a potential safety violation right there. That crotch looks like the perfect place to tie off a rope. A couple good pulls with the truck and at least it would be on the ground. Assuming a long enough rope that it doesn't end up on the truck.
X2. Wow.. Surprised that codes hasn't been after them. Besides that that's a homeowner liability....So is that considered a Widow Maker than?
I went and banged on their door and got no answer. I think the home is uninhabited and the owners maintain the property till they rent it or whatever.I saw the grass is cut so somebody knows what's goin' on but are just ignoring it.Heck it's Norway Maple and would make some great BTU's for somebody. Namely me !
Do you really want to take on the liability of taking it down? To me it looks like a CL ad for free firewood. You cut it and its yours.
Hell no I don't want that liability on my hands.I just posted this on here cuz I thought was interesting and germaine to the discussion here.
If you pulled on it, down and towards the trunk, I bet it would free right up - if those lines weren't there.... Yikes!
I didn't notice the lines! They may not be that close hard to tell in the photo; it may be like one of those pictures where the guy holds a crappie close to the camera and it looks like a marlin.
Oh it's fer real in my neighborhood, and yeah I didn't take in to account the power lines.Dude I would hook my tow hook to my truck and do them a favor and be done with it but damm that's another factor to consider.IOW looks like it ain't worth it.
By the look of all the dead leaves I'd say its been a hanger for quite awhile? Wonder how many kids have played under it?
Even the broken trunk part would get you a lot of free, and apparently close BTUs. The power lines look to be off in the distance. I'd keep after it, you never know.
