A block of Beeswax. I heat the metal slightly when I finish and run the block over it to coat it. It gets a rub down with a clean rag. It smells amazing as long as it is not too hot that it burns the wax.

We are about to get rolled with some heavy rain, if it holds together. Its running east bound on I-70, its at Topeka and truckin' this way it looks like. This means I wont have to water the garden or till today...:D... So I'll have to see what other trouble I can get into....:dex:

Thanks for that heavy iron engine fix for the day Jack. I was back at the anvil at 6 am this morning. I should have this project finished soon.

Getting the caffeine in a little late this morning. I stayed in bed until 7! It is time to get going on cutting some more Ash today. My kids and I also need to cut some grass late this afternoon. The camp is going to need a haying if we don't. Very cool pics fishingpol and Jack Straw!

A picture I thought you guys would like from this morning. I thought the cavernous area and the way the walls, roof and beams are laid out, it makes this grain storage bunker look more like a cathedral.

Well this antler coat rack piece is done. It is a milled walnut crotch plank with spike antlers and forged hanging eyelets and bands. They was a lot of fitting the iron over the antlers to wrap them close.

A special thanks to a particular member here for sending the antlers. This is going to my buddy at work for a house warming gift. It will be going out the door pretty quickly, and I won't get to enjoy it.

Lunch and dinner down here. The cooler temps will mean we will start spending more time down here.
