Spent the morning in the woods cutting up some White Oak and Black Locust. Everything was good until I pizzed off a hive of yellow jackets!! Only got stung once as I'm a pretty fast runner
Lots of hard work in those BTU's. Lots of good pics, but where was the dog in your Avatar when you took these?
Both dogs stayed home. They hate the heat! Haha! Yeah no bark on one single round today. That is how I like em
Been there, done that and feel for you!!! ... Although you got away with only one sting, my wife couldn't count all mine on my back and top of my head! Dam I hate it when that happens! I think every one on this forum has had that happen on time or another, Ironically it's still funny when you look back, Sorry, I laughing at my self not at you Scooter, I didn't realize how fast I could get mt fat A$$ moving untill you see them. Thats a nice haul!!! Love the pup's, they didn't get stung did they?
Great haul scooter! Wasps are one reason I don't like to mess with firewood in summer. Nice looking bulldogs Good call on leaving them at home in the heat. As you know, brachiocephalic dogs can't cool off like dogs with longer snouts can.
No dogs weren't stung. They can't be out in the sun for more than 5 min without over heating! That's bulldogs for ya. Think ill wait to get the wood I cut over by those yellow jackets in late fall
Been a bad year here for yellow jackets. I'm allergic by the way. First had a hive goin under the hood of the lawn mower, garden hose took care of them. Last night when I was burning card board in the pit I found they had moved into an old box spring that was in the burn pile for this winter. I snagged it with a grapple and cable then pulled it into the middle of the yard with the atv. Threw a gallon jug of gasoline on it from a distance, followed by a lit road flare. No more yellow jackets. This morning I went to pull some stuff off my parts f150 and found a nest going under the hood. 3" mag full of 9 shot took care of that one.
Thanks for the pictures of the dogs. I like the one stretched out on the cement floor. Know the feeling!
Oh man...you are brave venturing into the woods this time of the year. Too many skeeters for me and the heat too. In a couple months, the woods are a little more friendly.
Yeah that's my other bully Jenkins. He's one lazy guy! I hadn't been out in the woods for awhile and was getting that itch. Was ready to add more rounds to the pile
Got 2 more loads today of White Ash. Guy had 5 trees cut down and already bucked up. At least it wasn't in the woods...down by the lake! No pics.... was trying to get er done cause the wife was helping
I don't even want to think about those yellow jackets, those buggers came out of a old wood pile right in my face stung me all over my body but 40 times, that was not fun day at all
HDRock....I couldn't imagine how that felt! 40 times???? Ouch!!! Got something burrowing into my honey locust right now. Saw some wood dust on one of the splits. I'm not trying to find out..at least not for another 2 years! Hahaha!
