Sorry I've been engineering and building industrial plants for 20 + years - social media a bit new, but do like it. Regards, Sent from my iPhone Steve Gordon
Most of us here have been banished from that site So our Leader Scotty O started up this site , it's a much nicer place to hang out and we have a ton of fun and laughs
As my parents taught me "If you don't have anything nice to say about somebody don't say anything at all" so I'll be saying Nothing about the other place
That's pretty much what a lot of us rebelled against........when we spoke up, we got kicked out. There are only certain points of view allowable there.
I deleted the broken links. Gladly continue discussing the pellets and chart by all means. Lets just forget the past and move on please. No need to dig it up again. Better just to create new memories.

Steve...found it on another forum...along with these notes....without using "as received " ash and BTU numbers, the report IMHO is pretty much useless. I would also want to see an average of actual 3rd party reports (from the same reporting firm each time) so that you can see how consistant a pellet is.... some pellets will spike and dip wildly over a given period, so they will get a large variety of difference fibre sources coming in a different times, which will greatly affect their performance.....best test is to try a few bags of different brands and see what works in your stove the best....realize that is very hard for some...but really is the best test there is.....It is my experience that some of these listed numbers are a stretch for what is listed....so buyer beware ....my $.02 worth Caveats: * Does not take into account soft/hardwood preference. * Assumes you live near me -south shore of Boston. These are the closest places and delivery prices to put 4 tons in my garage. * Prices are based on a 4 ton purchase today - meaning if you buy less or later they may be more. Some of the sale prices expire this weekend. * The whole BTU/$ and ASH/$ is completely arbitrary and does not take into account how you prioritize pellet attributes: BTU, ASH content, or price. Another way to understand the rightmost column is to go down the btu and ash rankings and then look at price for a rough estimate. * I have not verified that all of these are currently in stock but assume so if it's on their website. * Some pellets come in 1.1 or 1.2 ton pallets so I've adjusted for 1 ton. Price is assuming 4 tons but total purchase price would be higher for 4 pallets (since it would be 4.4 or 4.8 tons). * Most importantly: BTU and ash reports are not scientific, or may be old. So I completely understand that rankings and analysis may be useless, but I enjoy the challenge of the analysis!
Doug don't disagree however, this test was done without any knowing, consent or input on my end...and pretty good PR for the brand. Do we have the best pellet???? That's for the consumer to decide, but for the money, consistent high quality and knowing they will be there when you need them makes Easy Blaze a good choice. I test ash, mc, durability and bulk density 3 times a day on our pellets in a lab that we have certified and calibrated by the OEM's. We keep our tested pellets for 6 months. We also sent out monthly samples to Twin Ports Testing for domestic and BEL Labs for Europe shipments to confirm numbers. At $1750 month test, I kept the back up. We are no longer shipping to Europe we decided to keep our trees in the US. FYI - typical ash numbers are lower as received than OD.. No water less weight%.
Wow up close to $40/ ton from last year Let me know if you have a dealer near me in PA ,I'm not driving to NJ it's 80 mile round trip and my truck can't haul a ton with tolls and traffic these are becoming expensive pellets . They are a very nice pellet ,I still have a few bags left in my stash ,I liked them a whole lot better than the Okie Golds . I'm taking a pass on theses, I got other options that are easier and cheaper to pick up, LaCrete's .
