Hit 1700 today, hope all are having a good summer so far. I myself have been very busy, chores and work and TREE REMOVALS .......with a little play time here and there...

Hope everyone has been hoarding up some wood this summer, burning season is around 8 weeks away here in central PA!!!

8 weeks, not that long. Noticing a pretty good difference in the amount of daylight hours already. Fall will be here soon!

I haven't hoarded 1 stick this summer, but I think I'll be alright. Who would have thought in 2013 we'd come this far.......Thanks and well wishes to all the family here.

    WooHoo....1700!
Was thinking this a.m. that burning may commence in as little as 6 weeks.
I've got lots of firewood to get.......and move.

Last year I actually marked my IPad calendar when I had my first fire, it was 9/13 which sounds early.

I love Summer. I'll be sad to see it go, but it's inevitable.

When summer goes away, it's again time to make firewood.

This fall, I get ahead on firewood, a first for me. Hopefully i get up through 17/18 season wood for me.

Way to go everyone. I am surprised how active FHC remained throughout the summer. It will be time soon enough to get into the next gear for winter prep. I'm looking forward to the fall threads - garden harvesting, canning, hunting and of course stacking wood to winter quarters.

I believe that the reason it has been so active all summer is because we have a unique group of folks who enjoy many of the same things and the same adventures of everyday life. This is a form of social media with a "down home" twist where the folks participating are not out to being "all about me", but are more about "us" the folks here @ FHC. Fantastic members on a well moderated site. Kinda like the good old days when folks used to meet @ the general store, sit around the pot-bellied stove after slicing off a hunk of cheese from the block on the counter, and discuss the current events as they applied to them....................Sure love this spot........................:thumbs::thumbs:

Could you imagine a GTG with all 1700 members! I wonder if Dexter has enough room for all of us?

I just read her all these posts... and Mrs. Dex just said "Bring it on"!!!! :)

As stated above, this is a unique place that has very loyal members who all share lots of interests. We have several sub forums for when we all are not burning a solid fuel (wood, pellets, coal, corn, etc), which keeps us plenty busy.

Thanks to all of you members, who make this the wonderful place that it has grown to be!!

We have come a long way, glad to be a part of it, the laid back atmosphere is the best:thumbs::):rootintootin:
It seems like people here had the same parents I did, they taught me early on, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything:)

And this is a great place! Thanks to everyone.
