    Rained almost all day today, which wasn't all bad as it was pretty dry.

    The rain finally let up so I went for a stroll. Nice rainbow over Lake Huron to wrap up the day.

    See were strolling down memory lane, Andre the giant and Bob Backlan. My best bud was a Randy Savage fan. We spent many Saturday night's watchin the actor's(as my buds dad called em).

    I met Andre the Giant and Stud at an event in Poughkeepsie. I'm not a small guy and Andres hand covered mine along with my wrist. Never saw anything like him before or since. Smile as big as the sun as I remember.

    Saturday we almost got blown off the water. A nasty storm just missed us to the north. Had a bit of thunder so we put the Lightnin(fishin) rods away until it blew over. Took these pic's just before the sky turned black. Was hoping to get a rain bow pic, But nada!!

    Won't be long... the cost of your new home will be a distant memory. When the winds howl and the snow's deep this winter, you and Cindy are gonna be very comfortable. Knowing your son and DIL will take care of "things" and are there will prolly make the cost of all this seem like the best bargain you ever got... ;) Good for you seeing that, and just going for it... :yes:

    We built an "addition" on our cabin in the late 1990's (we added a house to the cabin....) Our recent remodel to this new house cost twice as much as back then too. I also anticipated saving $1500 per month on the this mortgage. Due to our health insurance increasing to $1000 per month, I am thrilled we made the move. Very disappointed there is not more savings to complete our remodel and save for retirement though. I'll stop before I hijack.

    I don't know how anyone pays for that amount of money per month. Worse than a mortgage on a house. I consider myself lucky that I have paid health care from my military retirement. I do have to pay Medicare, but that is just a bit over $200 a month for the two of us. I have that, and I have a service connection and can use the VA services. I don't feel too guilty about the free health care after how long I served at starvation wages. A $100 a month didn't go very far even back in 1967
