I was not in the service. My brother was in the Gulf War as a Marine Corps heavy equipment mechanic and my stepdad in Vietnam as a plane mechanic in the Airforce. Thanks for the guys that keep freedom for us back at home.

People don't always agree on the missions overseas, but we have to always respect and appreciate those risking theirs for us. It's the people sitting in high places that decide whether to fight. I think Congress and the President should be required to serve before they can send someone else's kid off to risk their lives.

    Again...thanks for your service

    that's spot on!

im not into etymology but the origin of the word "Infantry" stems as I recall from "L'Enfant"(spelling?) which means "having no voice"

It hard to thank the vets enough. To anyone who is or has served our country. THANK YOU. IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I personally believe that veterans should be provided all the top quality benefits they need to make their life better, for serving their country and keeping this country the best there is. I hate it when I read that lawmakers have voted to cut benefits in anyway that negatively effects people who have served their country. They talk, talk, talk, about how they support the military when it is election time. But it is rarely reported in the news when bills are being passed that take away things from the veterans, currently serving, or who are no longer actively serving.
