Fiskars pole pruner.

We have a pretty big younger silver maple in our front yard that I've been wanting to touch up all year. Went to the local Ace and they had the Fiskars and an off brand. The Fiskars was 80$ vs 50$ for the other one but we have a lot of Fiskars stuff that's all top notch so I picked one up. It adjusts very easily up to 14' and as expected cuts great. The saw adjusts but loosening the wing nut and placing the hole you want over the notch. Probably will only use it occasionally but I'm glad I finally snagged one.

 

$80 with a lifetime warranty is a no brainer. When I broke my X27, they sent another one no questions asked, no proof of purchase, no sending the broken one back, just "sorry, we'll send another one right out"

 

I have one and love it. I don't use the saw blade so I don't have it on. Just like the loppers. I have one of the extended pole power saws should I need it. Once I went around and got things trimmed up, I seldom have much use. The stuff growing at ground level is the pesky stuff that needs constant attention. I'm switching over to the battery powered equipment. Lighter and no set up to use.

 

used mine a lot until got the chainsaw extension for Stihl combi unit then it kind of hangs in garage.. gas powered is easier!

 

I have an off brand long one with a saw blade, and I have had one of these for a long time, its only 5 feet long but the head swivels 270 degrees, which makes it very nice to get close to the ground and you don't have to bend over, works great on anything you can reach with it.

I also have that one. I really like it. Too bad it is discontinued. Limits bending over or reaching too far. Good tool to have on hand.

 

I really like mine too and I have a lot of stuff that is not real high up, I use power tools for big jobs but I like to use that around the fences because power tools and fences don't get along very well

 

I have the same pruner pole, works really well. I use it in the fall to take new growth off the lower parts of of the trees in the yard.

 

Yep. This is my kind of pole pruner.

 

yup, uncleJoe, that it, except mine is a split shaft. makes changes of attachments simple. the little rotor tiller and pruner get lots of use. power broom and trimmer saw blade less so.

 

Pole saws are great I have one too, but it is about the right tool for the right job at right time

 

I got one for father's day perhaps 4 years ago. Aside from breaking the wing nuts it is awesome.

Not any exciting story, it just cracked during normal use first weekend I had it. I chalked it up to a fluke as the replacement is going on three years and 30 cords.

 

Yeah, it must have been a defect. It doesn't even have the coating worn off of the head yet.

I have overstruck more times than I care to admit (actually, maybe just once, yeah, that's it, maybe twice ), and so far so good.

Mine is telescopic. It extends out to a full length of 11' 9"
