Jon1212 gifted me an Echo CS-330T and it is a nice little saw that is going to make it easier for me in my wood cutting when dealing with smaller cuts and limbing. Many thanks and big hugs to Jon1212.
A generous gesture jon1212. Well done. Kimberly, be careful running that top handle saw. It does not give you as much leverage for control as a more conventional saw.
Thanks. Yes, Kimberly has been made keenly aware of the handling differences between a top handle and rear handle saw. For limbing, trail clearing, thinning, smaller bucking, or working in more confined spaces, I felt this saw would be advantageous. Also, the lighter weight of a 330T versus an MS290 is much less physically taxing.
Yep nothing like limbing or trail clearing or general easy clean up with a light top handle. Way easier that swinging a 50-70cc saw around to do the same task.
Yep!! Things get dangerous. When its 95F outside and I am clearing brush I know I dont tire as fast with my little top handle vs o 60-70 or even 80cc saw. When your tired and wore out there is a greater chance for error or mistakes/accidents.
I do too! Just got the nylon shell. They still remind me of that to this day. I was cutting trees to big to Bush hog out of a field with my MS390 60cc class saw. This was when I was say 23 so not like I was not strong and full of energy. But it was met and I clearly had pushed my limits.
I have an MS390. It is from the 039 to 390 changeover(no decompression valve) around 2002, and I bought it brand new. It took a trip to Cottle Lane about four years ago. It now handles a 24" just fine, but it gets nose heavy.
Mine is probably an 04 model. I bought it in 04. It has a decom What did randy do to it? Increase ports? Of course a muffler modd. Port timing? A bit difficult to cut squish on a calm shell but I dont put anything past him!!
It was early on in porting for him, so I believe cutting squish didn't seem to be a viable option. I know port shaping, and timing happened, as well as the muffler mod. The video of it is still up on his YouTube page.
I like that 290 that was chitty avatar saw! That was a nasty saw! I think chevy man or maybe it was someone else has for sale now.
