Hey fellow burners. I have been off line for a while, getting caught up here. I did prebuy some Vermont's at 300/ton. They are our favs and I am trucking them to the homestead this week. But I am going to use them like the past (just a ton or so in the winter) and not like last year! As I am loading up my twin oil tanks at 2.00 a gallon. I have had the stove since 05 and it owes me nothing. Especially after last year and not being able to get oil delivered, I am not making that mistake again! So run it weeknights and weekends, and oil up at during bed time.

Hope all is well and I will be back o-line more after I go to Lake Winny in NH for a drunk, I mean relaxing week. Half the liquor store coming with me!!:dex:

I wish I had a second oil tank as well. I plan on burning mostly oil this winter. Sure, who knows what the oil price is going to do. But if the price of oil rises, I'm still ahead of the game from a cost average standpoint starting the winter with a full tank.

I'm perplexed as to why pellets are so high this year especially with the decrease in transportation costs. I don't believe consumer demand is or will be that strong if you have an alternative heating source other than electricity in the Northeast. The demand Doug is seeing is from the dealers.

I won't be buying any $300 - $350 pellets. I'd rather burn wood if I need the exercise.

I did get the $249 Somersets from TSC in house as a hedge. I am sure they will keep for next year unless there is a large spike in oil prices.

Yup, typical dark green baggie is Green (un)Supreme (aka NEWP junk)....oh, the horror. :faint:

Most other producers use white or somewhat transparent wrap, but I think NEWP doesn't want people to really know what they're buying.
