Out of sheer curiosity thistle, what saws will this fit, or is it specific to a brand?

Pretty sure it only fits several of the older big Poulan's,since that's what it came off of.

Did the 4200 have an 'S' clip on the studs? Most of the 5/16" stud Poulans with bow bars had 'S' clips as the bows were D096/UXL mounts with 3/8" slots.

If this is the case with your bow bar, it'll fit 5/16" stud medium-large Echos (CS-451 thru 750, 670/6700/6800, 800/8000), Poulans (200/300 series, 3400-4000, PP375-395, 4200/5200/4400/4900/5400), and XL-series Homelites (XL-12, XL-700/800 series, etc) when used with a stud spacer ('S' clip or coil spring type).

It will also fit the 3/8" stud Poulans (6900/7700/8500, Poulan Pro 405/455/525/655 and their Pioneer/Pioneer-Partner counterparts), Echos CS801 and bigger IIRC), and Homelites (SXL-AO, SXL-925, etc) without a stud spacer.

Don't know if its got an S clip, havent really looked at it yet.All I was concerned with was that it was a strong running beast, which it definitely is.

I suggest you measure the slot on the bar too. Sometimes those 'S' clips got lost....

If it does have a 3/8" slot (but you don't have an 'S' clip to go with it) and somebody wants to run it on a D176 mount saw I'll send them a set of coil spring stud spacers.

I wonder if it would fit on a Stihl with turned down studs.
