Severe Weather Possible!

Hope you all are ok and it misses you. This summer has been absolutely insane weather wise. We had a 22day stretch where every single day we sideways rain/horrendous storms. Nothing dried out for weeks and weeks around here. In fact I have tire ruts from mowing as it has bee soaking wet every time I mow.

Just this weekend they were saying gorgeous and sunny but yet both days they changed the forecast by noon and we had torrential downpours with flash floods. I have got absolutely nothing done around here and our garden was flooded so many times it is a total loss.

Sorry to hear about your garden, the month of June up here was spent saving our tomato plants.

 

Our friends saved theirs by sinking posts in the ground and putting a tarp roof over it to keep the rain out. Theirs is doing ok but is still hurting from the lack of sun. Even the roof wouldn't have helped our though since the creek that is 30 yards away has flooded multiple times a week and keeps putting it under water. I have never seen that creek flood to the point it has gotten up to the garden in probably 15 years.

 

I think the most rain we received this summer was just over 10 inches in 60 days, you must have received that in 2-3 days.

 

Not sure how much we got but the problem has been the ground won't really hold any more so it just runs off. Even little amounts of rain at this point leave puddles in my yard for a while.

We lived in Massena NY during the ice storm of 98 so we only lost the power for a total of 9 hours but the town we live in today were without power for a month.

Tail end of the storms going through right now here, nothing severe at my house, a lot of thunder lightning and rain, some areas in Michigan were worse and had power outages

 

So far the storms are starting up well east of us.
