9.5lb brisket- 20hrs on 200 degrees Pulled off the point like pulled pork. Sliced the flat ...sooo moist and tender. All of it went, left with some burnt ends I made.
Thanks, it was pretty good. I wanted to try a real low and slow method to see if all the talk on forums was true about drying out........And no it's not true, actually more tender than at 225 or more for 8 hours or so.
In about 4 hours..... Black Cherry smoked 3 pound Brisket (first & only one of the summer,I splurged yesterday what with the high beef prices over the past year or so),local sweet corn,BBQ beans,ice-cold Coors & maybe Coffee ice cream with Washington Sweet Cherries for dessert..... Pics to follow soon,of course. EDIT - After 5.5 hours, put the beans on 90 minutes ago.
Today is my in laws 35th wedding anniversary, so last night they wanted to cook out surf and turf. Lovely Wife and I found out about this around 4 yesterday, and where asked to pick up the fixings in town. Turf, no problem, mother in law loves cheap charcoal steaks (arm steak) and for everyone else I grabbed some top sirloin steaks. As for the surf portion we wanted crab legs and "fresh shrimp" well the grocery store only had a few crapy looking king crab legs and two tiny snow crab clusters, I passed on them and took all the shrimp the had, about 2 pounds. They didn't even have any frozen crab legs. We had to stop at wally world as well so I had LE look for frozen crab legs, low and behold the had some, 2lbs box for $20, she grabbed a box, but when she checked out they only rang up at $10 a box, so she went and got one more. At the pond they had a good fire going with some oak, I didn't want to mess with bringing the boiling pot, so I used some aluminum foil pans. Poured in a beer, a few sliced lemons, and a good dusting of Old Bay, along with the crab legs and shrimp, then sealed them up with aluminum foil. I placed them right on the hot coals to steam. About 10 minutes and everything looked done. I pealed a srimp, and popped a crab claw for taste test, and boy was it good! Sorry no pics, but I impressed myself for a last minute surf and turf feast!
I'm too tired to cook. So my wife is making Tacoes. I've never had them before so I thought I would try them.
Mmmm..... I think you'll like Taco's.....I had them for dinner..... even the Nacho flavored tacos........ They were good.
Say what......... You have never had tacos, wow..... Tex mex is a staple food around here. Try grilling flank steaks then slicing them thinly on a tortilla with sautéed onions green peppers and jalapeños for a super fresh taco. We also sauté onions green peppers jalapeños and once they are soft add two cans of black been and some cumin for a great black bean taco. Ohh you need to try quesadilas also. Then there enchiladas. Yes I love Mexican style food.......
I love Mexican Style food also! I was being a wise azz, hence the whistling smiley after I said that. LOL I have posted a bunch of times about eating tooooo many Tacos.
I've eatin Tacos so many times it's not funny! LOL I love em. I was being funny because I've posted so many times about eating too many of them.
