I'm thinking it's hot enough that the stove will protest and refuse to draft......

I had my old stove repaired back in '10, and when I got it back in late summer, I left it on the trailer.
Put a piece of pipe in the collar, some wood inside, and started a fire. Didn't burn great, but it wasn't too bad, and the bonus was the stink was less when I took it inside.
Point is, it'll burn if you have some dry wood. You can have a fire in a firepit in the middle of summer, eh?:)

I know Papadave, I'm just hot and really frustrated that we have gone straight from winter to summer with about two days of Spring AGAIN. Right now I want ice cubes, not a fire. Weather Canada has a warning of a humidix in the mid 30's C tomorrow. That is July and August, OCCASIONAL weather. Crazy year. The garden is so dry it is like powder. Already almost too hot for some of the seeds to germinate.

I get that. We normally burn into the middle of May here.
It got up to 90 today. Say WHA......?
Burn bans ongoing for over a week, although we're due for some rain now through Saturday.
I'm afraid to scuff my feet, for fear the static will start a fire.:D:hair:
Positive......your firewood will have more dry time with all this warm weather.

I bet are swamped with orders from the sale. Your stove is probably sitting in a corner with a tarp over it until they can devote a team to sit down and deconstruct it.....or at least that is how I'd like too think it's going any way

    You have something custom?
I ordered mine a couple days before the sale ended and got it the beginning of this month? Black on black with standard art from their catalog

Congrats! I just finalized my order last week. I got in on the final days of the promo as well! I'm having an attached garage converted into a family room, and was holding off on the build to try and get it all here around the time my contractors will need it. Penny told me early July, which should work out great. Metallic brown w/copper accents. Having custom art work done.

Just an FYI regarding this thread title. I sent WS my ash pan cover, Lorin saw my pics of the black sooty looking drips that was coming from the air (?) cover on the left rear of the stove. They are sending the cover to the lab to have the drip samples analyzed to determine the origin. I believe they are leaning away from creosote and more towards a caulking used to hold a seal in place. WS will get back to the owners when they have more news.

Yup. Woodstock sent the new stove body to the ABF Freight terminal and I brought the old one with me. This forklift driver was a master and put the new stove on the trailer so gently, it would not have popped a soap bubble. I hope Woodstock can figure out what the issue is....

I know, times flies when we are enjoying the summer. To think, its been about 3 weeks since they rec'd my ash pan cover with the black stains on it. I wonder where things stand on the dissection of the stoves they took back?? And the tests they were going to run on the black liquid stains....dunno

As mentioned on the production IS thread, no news from WS on the leaking soot issue yet. They have yet to dissect the returned stoves. Lorin will get back to us shortly.

I only know of one and that was someone from this forum, I'm not sure how many they have in total to look at.
