Mother Nature kicked our butt the other night. Firewood won't be an issue for a while. 80 mph winds can really take a toll. They say we should have power by Thursday night, fingers crossed ! 20150712_201502.jpg

We were quite fortunate, a lot of our neighbors didn't fare as well. It took one of my buddies two days with three guys and a bobcat with grapple just to clear his driveway. I lost about a dozen trees.

Well I'm glad to hear someone's alright with it all, and as far as firewood delivery, I like a little more heads up than what you got:rofl:

Those trees uprooted so they must not have had that much force. Trees in the backyard snapped. 20150713_131341.jpg

damm! knocked over your wood pile. Now the real important question, what types of trees are those?

Wow, I'm hoping that never happens to our gigantic cottonwood in our front yard, about 50 feet away from the house and twice as tall, I'm hoping if the dang thing is going to fall on the house that it falls very very soon as I'm remodeling the bedroom on that side, maybe save me the hassle and I can get it all paid for :p

I lost 6 popple, 1 norway pine, 6 jack pine and a few small birch. Luckily I didn't lose any oak, but a friend lost over a hundred oak and maple in his woods and he doesn't burn...

More importantly, the wood pile saved the logsplitter !!!

Well that's one way to get some firewood delivered to your driveway! Those darn tree guys never cut them to the right length though... They didn't do a very good job stacking either! :picard:

Too bad it hit the wood pile, but it looks like it could have been much worse!

I don't trust popple trees; especially next to a house. About 25 years ago I was bow hunting from a tree stand in a big maple, a decent gust of wind blew through and a seemingly healthy popple toppled over not 20 yards away (snapped off towards the base). I have a few at the back of my property and wonder when they will come down. Currently have one tree worth of popple in the stacks, my neighbor cut it up as it had fallen across one of his paths, so I took it.

Glad to see you came through unharmed.
