    I have some for 2016-17 but I still need more so this downed Hemlock (if it's good) should take care of what we need.

    Looks good from the picture; of course the saw will tell you soon enough. I've found some really good wood that looked like it was not worth bothering with.

    Hemlock would be a good choice Zap..

    Hard for me to imagine your short of any type of wood for any season though! :)

    Zap, does Hemlock have bark similar to Cedar?

    I'm not sure, we have a few Cedar on our property but I never payed any attention to the bark.

    We like the Hemlock better than the White Pine and we have five good size Hemlock down.

    White pine is pretty poor wood, hemlock is better than it btu wise on every chart I've seen..

    We burn what comes down, so some years for shoulder season wood it's white pine but most years it's a combo of the two.
