ends tomorrow. This tree is not far from the house so I'll check it out tomorrow, since it's down, I'm hoping it's a Sugar Maple. Just down from the Maple is a downed Birch, I'll get that too.

Plenty of water in the brook now eh? The Oswegatchie is flowing well over the dam in the Burg. I was driving by there the other day and realized I need to get down there for a walk at night. It has been too long. How cool is the water in the brook this time of year?
I'm not sure on the temp but my guess would be 65-68, we had the boat up at Carry on Tuesday and the water temp was 73.

The one tree I thought was a Maple, was a Basswood and I think the other is a Yellow Birch. The second picture is what was standing from the wind damaged Birch. It's about 90 in the direct sun but the area I was working was real shady so with the breeze we have it wasn't bad.
Finally some pictures of downed trees that are not widow makers. seemed like most every other picture you had was of a tree hung up.
skeeters are really bad here, blasted them with the fogger the other day, knocked them down some but they are still BAD
Well Seasoned , everything I cut yesterday was solid which surprised me. savemoney , we still have some up top but mother nature will have to take care of them. HDRock , when I was talking with Sav, he was telling me they were bad.
After taking a ride around the property, I decided to split some off the wood from some cutting last fall. I started with the wood in picture 8966, picture 8970 is what I split today and the rest are piles around the trail so this week I start stacking. The area I'll be stacking holds just over three cord or 10 NY F/C, I think with the wood I have around the house and some stuff in the woods, I might come up short some but I'll take it from some other stacks. Picture 8971 is some nice Ironwood. We hit 90 in the direct sun but the big old pines and some Maples offered some nice shade.
Nice work! How was the humidity? With our weekly torrents of rain, our humidity is high, so any work outside gets wrapped up by late morning.
