Weather here has been clear with low humidity and a nice breeze, so..........dove into my Oak pile to get it split, stacked and seasoning...........even a home for the shorts and uglies............
I spent about 3 hrs this week in the evenings finally getting the splitter back to work. I'd like to get some more time in soon if possible.
Lovin it. Some of this oak is really knarly and wet. Nothing has stopped it yet. I like the overall quality of it as well. Subaru motor sips gas. Overall A++++
Appreciate the input on the engine Rotti. I have the 22 ton model and the only thing that irks me is the automatic throttle, it's not manual. Sometimes it chugs when strained and I would rather have control of the throttle in situations like that. I agree it sips fuel and it easy to handle because it's not a full beam.
Mine has a manual throttle, the other thing I like about it is that when it hits a tough piece the pump goes into 2nd stage very smoothly and evenly.
I noticed that too.... I like the control stick for it. rottiman .... Any more pics of that sub tractor? Attachments for it? Didn't know Case made a unit like that.
Also not pictured is 60" mid mount mower and 3ph PTO driven vac system for the mower. Tractor is 25 hp diesel, 4 wd hydrostatic w/ power steering. They no longer make the 25, I believe the smallest they have now is a 28 or 30 hp. I have 593 hrs. trouble free hours on it................
That tractor is awesome, why did you hold out on us by not posting pictures of it before? How is your arm doing if you don't mind me asking,?
I really like that setup you've got. Did you fabricate the extension of the bucket, then? Or are buyable option? It looks like Case did a nice job engineering that thing from the controls and the loader aspect. It's a lot better controls than JD gives us even in the 1000 series. The option that I wish I'd have went for was the 4wd model. I'd probably only get myself into more trouble that way too... I bet it's hell on the snow that you get up there. You use the bucket? I've got a blade, but any more prefer the bucket.
I have had picts of the tractor on several times in the past. My arm has come along fantastically. I'm probably 98% of what I used to be. Does bother me alittle on damp days but I am used to that joint discomfort as I am aging. An occasional ALEVE tablet seems to keep everything operational. Appreciate the inquiry..........and yes, getting old does suck.................
The bucket extensions bolt on giving me a 6' width. I fabricated them myself as I was a welder/fabticator by trade. It is an awesome little tractor for snow as I can push as well as any plow and have the option to stack it at the end of the push. The PTO driven spreader is loaded with sand salt mix in the winter and keeps the driveway passable. I park the tractor in my heated garage so never a problem with the sand/salt freezing. Works really well. Tractor will get a break from a lot of the snow this winter with my latest acquisition...........................
What a beast Rotti !!! Bet snow pile fun is a blast with those extenders on the bucket... Now all both of us need on the winter set-ups is a nice heated cab and a coffee cup holder...
