Any of you out there using hard wood? If so, what are your burns like on a full load?

I loaded it up with Ash and left the house. 13 hrs later the stove wasn't throwing a lot of heat but the house was 74 and there were plenty of coals. Because it is a secondary burn stove, it seems to really take off mid cycle and get too hot in the house. Usually when that happens I am not there but it doesn't matter because my house is warm when I get home.

The EBT function of the stove has been disabled and the air control has been modified so I can turn down the air more than factory settings. It has worked well for my situation.

In regards to the Ash burn times, it was around the high 20's to low 30's during the day and 21-23 when I left for work. The day prior I loaded up Cherry and it held for 11 hrs with coals. I knew the next day was going to be a long one so I reached for the Ash.

Let me know if you need anymore info and I will be happy to help you out. I do have 3 year seasoned Red Oak that I stacked at dads place. I can grab a load and let you know how it does. I can give you Cherry, Ash, Beech and Red Oak times. All seasoned and reading 18-21 on the mm.

If I can get 12+ hours on the T-5 I bet you could go 16+ hours.. I burn all hardwood so I am sure that makes a difference.. Right now have some red oak and hard maple burning.. I have 2 cords of extremely seasoned bark free locust stacked outside that would burn very nicely if needed..
