Yup - cant wait to sharpen that puppy. I have a 4' black walnut that I'm working on at my sister's house. I got this from jon1212 to use as my big milling bar.
My first Olympyk. It was given to me on Sunday by my friend Josh Jurgens (Four Paws on AS). He stopped by with his wife, on their way back home to Idaho. I provided supper for them, and we had a lot of laughs.
Got this from a coworker. He gave it to me for looking at and tearing down his saw (had bearing bits all in the lower end so its now a parts saw) Looks like it has very little wear. Wouldnt idle when I got it and smoked like a signal fire. I added fresh fuel to it and adjusted the carb. It runs perfect now and the smoke is getting less. I think they must of used sae30 at 16:1 or something as fuel??!!!
Older brother gave me his in 2013,an early 90's model that he bought new.Had been sitting in his garage for about 10 years.Stopped using it cause it leaked fuel.Otherwise very strong compression & started easily.I took it all apart, cleaned it thoroughly (was totally filthy) put it back together & found the culprit - a clamp that holds the fuel line to the fuel tank in place wouldn't tighten down like it should.Very poor & cheaply engineered design- a far cry from the first generation all aluminum/magnesium Mini Mac's of the late 60's through mid 70's. Didn't want to mess with it any further so I'm keeping it on the shelf as a reminder of what McCulloch ended up as before filing Chapter 11 in 1999......
I gotta get the 272xp shined up enough for a photo or two. But for now I'll stick the rancher in there
Poulan 4900, Masterminded Poulan 4000, Poulan 2000. Edit: The 4900, and the 2000 were gifted to me from my good friend Aaron(Eccentric). The 2000 came to me in a box marked "Utah Big Timber Saw". The 4000 I got from Mastermind in a trade for a really clean Homelite 550 I picked up here in Utah.
