We had one go through here three years ago March 2 was the day I remember it very clearly it was really really warm here for that time of year

It was a wicked one too a few lost there lives I was at work and the wife and kids was home without me I work in ems and could hear the reports on the radio of the damage couldn't get through on the phone to her

We made it to the area right as it was ending my house was not touched however the wind or suction was so powerful it actually pulled my chimney cap to one side

I defiantly pay attention to the storm sirens now I cut a lot of wood for a month but I didn't get any I didn't feel right about benefiting from others losses. I had the mindset of cut as much as I could as fast as I could and move on to the next one

I'm glad your ok it's defiantly a eye opener a word of advise watch out for the scammers and thieves they will come in now they did here. People actually rode around trying to get money to help people. Looters was all over. Then the sight seeing people backed up all the roads here they would park in your drive or yard to go walk looking at damage

We had a tornado go just north of my parents house years ago in the middle of the afternoon. I was sitting on the front porch and it went from sunny....to black (and I mean dark enough the birds stopped chirping) to green skies...then all hell broke loose. I saw some 12" trees twisted off at the stump. Crazy how powerful they are.

Here is a video of it right when it touched down unfortunately the flashing you see is the first houses it hit killing the people who lived there.

I have a bunch of pictures if anyone really wants to see them

What really pizzed me off was I didn't get any firewood out of helping people I didn't care and didn't want it I just wanted to help them clean up or do whatever I could to help them

The county however had different plans they came along and grabbed all the wood they could along the roadways most if not all already cut which I get that it has to be done

We live in a rural area a lot of wood burners here. The county was hauling wood in dump trucks to a dump site that was a field someone allowed access to dumping it and set it on fire and guarded by police

They would not allow any one to have any. Said it was for eab control whatever. Didn't stop county workers from taking some to their houses or buddy's housed though

They burned hundreds of dump truck loads of wood

The bad part is anyone who had a house left didn't have electric and if they had wood it was scattered hells creation Albeit green wood but it would have been better than no wood

This tornado hit us in March and it snowed a day or two after

Truly disgusting how "officials" act, yet condone "personal preference" at the same time, isn't it?

I've seen a lot of those people, stopping in the road taking pictures of us working on cleaning up.

Moved on to the next house today. Started with a good sized maple, dropped the tree and hauled all the logs away. Going to chip the brush Monday.

I did another tree job today, decent sized maple that came down in the storm.

Check out the treehouse in the back, that thing is awesome!!! The owner was actually in the tree house when the tornado went through, said it was pretty scary.
