Star Ranch choice grade Angus Packer Brisket for $2.88LB and a couple of nice bone in pork butts, put it all in the freezer as not planning on cooking for awhile, one of the butts is in the spare fridge as I am going to cook it next weekend

<----Jealous. Brisket around here is $5+ a pound and I just refuse to pay that.

Right where I want to be.
Just looked last shopping trip. I was under what I'm now finding to be the mistaken belief that brisket was a lesser cut.
    Hmmmm, price didn't reflect that.

Did I hear Texas was selling cattle off because the drought ruined the feed for them?

got to stay out of the supermarkets, costco /Sams are a better option, or if you have a restaurant depot nearby they are awesome but you have to have a (business license) or tax-exempt certificate (for a non-profit organization) in order to shop there, or you can join KCBS and they authorize you day passes for restaurant depot, just show your KCBS membership card
