Gunny, I get scrap kiln dried hardwoods, which I run through a chop saw to make kindling, bigger pieces get chunked. I then use these to build a fire fast. my stove was little and would go out every 4 hours so learning to get fire fast was important. Friends and family come up to get shopping bags full. Taught many a friend how to build a fire.. pretty fool proof with kiln dried lumber..
