Gonna miss my girls but the next few days alone will let me get a ton done around here. Praying they have a safe trip. Im gonna be a nervous wreck till I get the call that they made it :hair:

Saved this old thing from the scrap yard today. 1974 Chevy 3/4 ton fulltime 4x4. Been looking for one of these for a while now. Needs an engine, but that won't be a problem. I must have a thing for green, this is the third green truck I've owned, lol!

Just going to put a 350 back into it, which is what it came with. Probably drop a better cam and lifter kit to make more torque, aluminum intake, a small vacuum secondary 4 barrel carb and a set of headers. Should be plenty of torque, especially with the 4.10 gears it has. Just wish it was a 4 speed, but now my wife will be able to drive it too.

That's one you don't see nearly anywhere - great save from the crusher:thumbs:
Lockable hub conversions are out there, truck isn't too roasted on the fenders may not be to bad on the undercarriage.
Welcome to the 74 chevy club:yes: - mine's a rusted out C10 on who knows what year K10 frame.
Find a 4 bolt main 350 with double hump heads, edlebrock intake, holley 650 and you'll have all the power that drivetrain could want

Thanks. That's funny, I have that exact 350 setup in my 1983 k10.

Hard to beat the combo for the money, reliability and MPG they yield.
Removing all the SMOG constrictions without SEL's is great:yes:

If you need a Holley 4160 I will probably have my current one that's on my 351 powered ski nautique on the shelf in a few weeks. I'm thinking of going with a quick fuel technologies M series new carb instead of the Holley 4160 converted from automotive to a marine carb.

Yup, I agree. Getting to the point I can join a number of old Chevy/GMC clubs. Always wanted one of each body style going back to the 1950's. Post a pic of your '74 if you got one, I'd like to see it.

Yeah, shoot me a price. I'm always looking for parts. I have a 4160 on my '83 and it has been a good carb. Have a NOS 4010 750 vac secondary, but that's being saved for my '75 GMC with a 454 which will probably work better on that engine.

We regret selling the 1979 K5, great shape, worn out engine.... Atleast we still have the 1981 :)

I regret selling my 65 short bed step side on 72 4x4 shortened and boxed frame with 82 'vette 4 bolt, 40" Super Swampers - it was a mean old bear

Unfortunately, I'm no mechanic. I like my lightly used 2012 I found. It is turning out to be quite a work horse.

Here's a '69 C-10 my son is getting. He won't let me buy it for him, he wants to do it on his own. Told him how I bought my first pickup when I was his age, 15, and he's trying to do the same. I'm pretty proud of him for that!
