Saw this on CL, guy was asking $75, said it was not working. Got it for $65, figured I could fix it. Turns out one of the two handles was broken off, that's all that was wrong. Cleaned it up, changed the oil and a little TLC and it was running OK. Added a few mods, connected the two hand levers so it would work with one lever, added a sheet metal screw on the pusher to grip the end of the log, added a piece of 2 x4 behind the pusher to shorten the stroke. It works really well, split a bunch of maple I had waiting to be processed.
Good score , great price I always used a block behind the pusher too. Beats splittin by hand IMO Ya got it up off the ground with a back table , your all set
I ran a Ryobi 4 ton for many years it split just about everything I threw at it... Good find it will serve you well!
Wow! Great deal!! Congrats! Hard to go wrong at that price! We have been searching for a cheap one for our basement. To split the occasional large split down.
