It hit 33F this morning; the forecast had it going to the mid-40's, and we were caught totally surprised. Here's hoping the garden survived!

We'll resist the temptation to light a fire ...

Around here, stove fires are not for the calendar!. If we feel cooler than what we want, then we light up the fire and enjoy! I've even lit up the stove just to drive the dampness out. sometimes just for the sake of sitting by a fire. If it make you more comfortable for any reason, go for it!

Well mostly becaue we don't want to make the house hot this afternoon. But likely to light tonight.

Yup. We go by inside temperature rather than outside temperature to determine if we build a fire or not. Sometimes at 33 outdoor temps you don't need one but other times you may need one even at 40 degrees. But that is certainly cold for this time of the year. Hope the garden pulls through.

Well, the squash and cucumbers look "gray." We'll see if they survive. The tomatoes look like they made it. Everything else looks OK.

The forecast for tonight is either 32 or mid 40's, depending on who you listen to. After last nigh, we are not taking a chance, and covered everything.
