I did my burn in fire right away, so I'm not sure about the dust issue, maybe others can weigh in?

Banish any worries you might have about running the stove though. It's amazing how easy it is to run, especially how precise the air control is. I was used to running an old Vermont Castings when I was much younger, and it was a totally different experience. Sleep well this summer knowing the IS will not disappoint at all when you need it once cold weather comes.

It's flattering to hear two members here sent in that pic of the stove in action to Woodstock for their color scheme. I remember I almost didn't post that picture above because I thought it was lousy!

The stove will do well with a good flue setup and dry wood. If any of those are lacking frustration will set in.

Aproximently 18' 6" flue straight up with a very strong draft. 2-4 year split and stacked wood plus some (who knows how old) 6"X6" yellow pine barn beams.

Without a good flue and dry wood I think any EPA stove will suffer! I'm going to be struggling with the wood supply for a while, hopefully I can find a house with woods in the next couple years. In the mean time I hope I can scrounge some more. Got enough for this coming winter I think, plus I'll probably partly supplement with Ecobricks. However the ash I have isn't going to be cut ideally for this stove. That might turn into a really big PITA.

Got the first draft for our stove today. Very happy with the art work, but now need to decide between A or B for the side burners. What does everyone think?

Penny is awesome to deal with at WS, she was also helping me out with the artwork phase of the stove construction.

From the sounds of it, I'll be glad that I have the lift on the back of the truck. Do you think the 1300lbs limit will be enough for the stove? :rofl: :rofl:  At least I don't have stairs to work with like some of you have, so it should be a very easy move.

I used a 3200lb crane on my service truck and it sagged the bed a little.

I think once you strip it down your lift will handle the weight. Pics!!
