Put up a cord for '16-'17

Ready to start the day-Savvy the log dog doing pre-split inspection-I know somethings wrong with my splitter but had a few 18" and the back wasnt stretched out yet-it got right later

 

First load ready to head up the bottom-Savvy already tired in the heat

 

Second load out and big pile of uglies-got to get more pallets or a water cage for them

Thank you gentlemen-it was so dang hot here today that I kept taking frequent hydration breaks inside the house, culminating with a damp towel in the freezer for the face and neck-there was a breeze however that made it bearable

 

In progress and 3rd load out-I also backstacked some in the shed, some maple to get to 6' high-I gave some out to a single mom so she and her daughter could make s'mores around a firepit I just ran out of time today, and gas (me)

 

It had to have been hot down by you. It was 80 and humid here.

It was Horkn ---we get storms tomorrow and then the real heat and humidity set in later in the week-It was 90 here today-the shed faces south and the prevailing wind is from the west-Let it bake baby!!!

Good productive day , nice stacks, the heat will take a lot out of ya , have a good rest

 

And that was why I was working on my ski boat today. If it's 90, and I'm outside in it, I better be in the lake.

If not, I'll be melted like Frosty the snowman in spring.

 

So you were working on your tan right Horkn?

 

Yes, that too. If I don't get a good base tan, the first hot sunny day on the lake will give you a burn.

Thank you sirs, Backwoods Savage and Horkn-I pushed it a lil bit in the heat but our finished products are so gratifying-after a chimney fire and probably a cat combustor in my Fireview that likely will need be replaced, I made myself a solemn vow to NEVER depend on anyone else for firewood for as long as the Good Lord allows...I intend to keep that vow and it helps having the support of so many here that feel the same-and we dont need gym memberships...that saves money too right???

 

Hey I've made that same vow. I bought wood 1 winter a couple of times when I first moved into the house I'm in now. I HATED having to call around and ask if anyone had any firewood available. I feel the same way you do about the people on here, glad we can all help each other.

 

You could buy wood and be ok you just need to buy it one or two years ahead of time, when buying wood unless you are paying premium dollars you're not getting wood that is ready to burn

 

HDRock - Its never "ready to burn" here-these hacks cut it and say its seasoned-no reputable processors in my area-they feed off the rich who burn for pleasure, and who don't know jack crap about wood-they burn for the glow and the glass of wine or two (heaven forbid, that's a wild night-lol) I'm done, I'm committed and I'm a certified wood hoarding nutbag...we know what's good, nothing else will do...
