I like those loads with the disk and like three 000 balls or whatever. But after watching Hikock45 and his bond arms video its not the great you can miss some things even at a pretty close distance bit a defense gun really should be used within like 10 feet or less so it shouldnt be much of a problem..hopefully?

I usually keep 2) Winchester PDX1 Defender 2.5" 2) Hornady 45 (long)Colt 225gr FTX 2) High Brass shot shells with #4 or #6 shot I also keep Hornady Triple Defense, .45 auto in moon clips, and some cheaper shot shells handy, ( and a Benelli m4 with double OO buck) just in case tshtf Covers a variety of situations!
since we are on the subject of 410's. why are 410 shot shells sooo expensive? you can get three+ boxes of 12 gauge shot shells to one box of 410's.

I shoot A LOT of Shotgun ammunition and I am convinced that for me, my home defense gun is a pump action shotgun w/ a normal dove or target load of 1 1/8 oz of 8 or 9 shot. If the universal security alarm (pumping a slide on a pump gun) doesn't deter the thief, getting hit with 400-500 pellets will send them to the hospital because their chest or stomach is ground meat. And it wouldn't be hard to point the guy out to the cops when he's the only one in the ER with chunks of meat missing. Also, you won't kill your neighbors by accident because your walls will stop all the missed pellets reducing the collateral damage. I have a straight shot down my hall from the front (bedroom) to the back of my house, if its late and I hear you breaking in, its 1 step to the Kimber 1911 with Gold Dots in the gun and Hornaday Critical Defense in the 2nd clip and 2 steps to the 12 gauge with 9's. And God help that poor soul if I have time to get in the safe because then Sh*t will really hit the fan.
clemsonfor That's pretty much it. .410 is a skeet shell or a niche hunting load so a manufacturer may have 3-4 times the manufacturing lines doing 12 and 20 ga to the 28 and .410's. same thing with 16 ga. As a carry gun I can't imagine a judge being a good gun unless its winter time with bulky clothing plus after a few of those defense shells your wrist may be a little sore. For me its a 1911 commander size .45. I had a friend tell me when I was looking around for something bigger than my 9mm, that "big bullets leave big holes". You don't have many but the ones you have will knock down a horse.

I bought a .410 for a good price a few years back. But I also dont shoot enough to get into loading it. I will just pay the $12 a box or whatever for them. I dont even think I have shot a box out of it since I have had the thing.

No TV for me at all. I've tried the Governor on clays, I was 0/25....but it was still fun lol I did a lot of groundhog hunting with a Taurus PT140. That was fun. Took a lot of strategy! Usually had to be within 50'
I'm not being smart either (not that you would know the follow by my previous post) but my house is basically a square w/ the bedroom attached at the front of the square in an "L" shape. You walk in the back door and you can see 3/4 of the house (other room has the front door and windows that you could see in coming around the house) and then down the hall ahead of you is the bedroom door, not much to figure out where I am if you can't see me through any of the windows. The gun is loaded all the time in the closet, along w/ a few pistols including my carry gun on my dresser w/ my wallet and keys (Kimber Pro CDP 1911 in condition 1 (cocked and locked in the holster)) I know they show the pump guns in the movies, but that is a universal sound that many people, not even gun people recognize as "something just happened, if I shouldn't be here I should go" I was at the PA State Trapshoot this week/ weekend where there are hundreds of thousands of targets thrown everyday (Saturday was about 220,000 targets) at the vendor tents or at your vehicle getting ready, most shooters will turn and look to see where the loaded gun is behind them if they hear the action close on an auto or pump gun. Most of us know that noise as the gun is being loaded and ready to shoot, whether there are shells in it or not. At our local clubs, I know I will pay a whole lot closer attention to new shooters with a pump/ auto versus a break open gun just because the sound catches my attention if they are around me. To answer you on the holster try Purekustom.com Rocky is a good guy and I got my Black ops pro IWB/OWB off of him a while back. If you want any special engraving/ coloration to them, he is very good, but not cheap. He does a lot of custom motorcycle seats and is a shooter so the holsters work out with his other business.
Thanks for the info chbryson. I'm glad to hear you are prepared and have a plan I did order a CrossBreed OWB holster for the Governor. I would still like to have an IWB also
