I took advantage of a half day at work today and split a cord or so of some big oak rounds with dad. My processing area is in the sun for most of the day (late afternoon shade) so we moved everything into the shade today. Broke out the heavy lifters today. We rolled the rounds onto the skids and lifted the skid next to the splitter, then rolled each round on to the splitter to be halved or quartered. Set some of the pieces back on the skid so they were out of the way and started splitting to size and toss in the ranger. Once the ranger was squattin, i drove it to the shed and stacked it. My lower back's been bothering me lately so unloading right from the bed to the stack is soo much easier

nice area to get the job done!
What are the details on that small off road fork truck you got the rounds on?Looks like a nice handy little tow motor to have around.

Good thing for the heavy equipment, the heavy hitters can sap the energy right out of you.

It's made by badger dynamics. It's two wheel drive (front wheels) with an old wisconsin 2 cylinder engine. It'll lift close to 2k. Now moving something with that kind of weight on the forks is another story haha. She a handy little machine but doesn't like to drive very far with a heavy load.

Nice work Smokin! That's about the most efficient way to split with what you have available. Nice job for sure.

How much did you get done total?
