I have 3 of these bank vault doors with the cases. I'm gonna use one of them to make me a huge walk in gun safe but the other 2 I don't need. I would consider trades but would would like $800 for a door and matching case. I will get pics of the cases if there's any interest. 20150527_170433.jpg

Last week on local CL free stuff someone had this massive safe on heavy casters that had to be close to 100 years old.Worn paint, little surface rust, usual scratches but looked great.Thought I saved the 2 pics but cant find them.

2 heavy doors, working lock, almost 4 feet tall,3 feet wide. Yes it was free. But it was around 700 pounds & had to be gone within 24 hours.  And it was. If I had a way to load it,unload it I'd have brought it home & found room for it someplace....

My guess either some restaurant or other small business took it as an "attention getter" or display item for their front lobby.Would look cool in an old building, drill out the lock & use it for a small bar in your man cave. :dex:

I got the safe too when I got one of these doors. It sold already but it was a very big pain to get out of the old bank. Took the old metal machine rollers and a skid loader. Lol.

It's just a little over that 70lb weight limit. 2 guys can move the door but you know you got a hold of somethin. :dex:

When my wife and I finally get settled, I want to have a vault room under ground away from the house, with double vault doors and a halon system in the air lock room. I figure that is about as fire proof as I can get.

Do you know what it costs to get those tanks filled for a "halon" system? :bug:

Already have the tanks. Salvaged from an electronics manufacturer. Not exactly safe to move while full, but do able.
