    I mentioned in an earlier thread that I've been dropping trees for the past couple weeks at my neighbors across the road. He wanted me to help him open up his view. I drop, keep the wood, and he can see farther - good deal! Dropped more trees yesterday - three big oaks, three ash, and few red maple. I've been working for only a few hours in the morning. I think I've dropped a little over 30 trees now - maybe 35. Mostly oak, with less ash, red maple, black and white birch, and one big-tooth aspen. His view is finally starting to open up, but I think I need to drop at least 10 more to get it to where he's happy. The pictures don't do a real good job at showing what I've been able to get done, but.....had to show it happened! A lot of the trees - especially the oaks, were good sized and I think what I've dropped will yield a lot of wood in the fall. Oak is abundant here, but I always have a hard time finding much to drop and put up for firewood. This will add a lot of good oak to the stacks. Will be a lot of work to process and haul out in the fall, but will be fun. Will be nice to come back in the fall and have a lot of trees on the ground to start bucking + a simple walk across the road! Used the 372 for all of this - pure joy to cut with. Cheers!

    How much do you think all these trees will yield you? Are u cutting and splitting where you drop them?

    Not sure - dropped one big oak that is likely 1 cord or close. I'm guessing that I have 7 cord minimum on the ground. After dropping the next bunch, I think 9 cord total - but hard to say. Will likely quarter the big rounds and haul out or drive my splitter with the atv. We'll see the best way when I start. Cheers!

    You're living a dream scrounge :yes:
    Don't wake up :)

    You get to fell several years worth of trees & get all the wood.

    Close to home is across the street

    Oak, ash maple birch, all primo stuff.

    Now you can wait till fall & cooler temps (which is good as the leaves will pull a lot of moisture out )
    to go in & buck it up.

    Let me guess;
    he has a tractor to haul everything to your hauler ?
