Yea, so far the forecast is a little off.
Did build a small fire last night, house 75°, a little warm , opened the windows. :)

Sunny & 55° here. Though I do see a wall of clouds West.
Hoping the storm stays a few miles off & we stay sunny.
Garden & GH needs the sun much more than clouds & rain.

Well I was out walking the property earlier and almost stepped on a rattle snake. By the time I got back with the 410 that sucker was gone. So now I know the snakes are out.

Cold enouph for a fire warm enouph for the snakes.

Not necessarily in MI. In northern Mi the old saying is that there are 10 months of winter and 2 of poor sledding. Some say there is winter and the 4th of July only. But in southern MI it gets hot and humid in summer....if that comes.

Looks like we had only a light frost in spots last night. A friend called this morning. Before the sun came up, everything was white there. Roofs, lawns, gardens, etc. Even his hair had turned white.

The year after we got here, I started building the pole barn.
The day we set the trusses was somewhere between 95-100 and the humidity was very high too, although I don't remember what. Yeah, it gets toasty here in northern Mi too.

The lemon balm, beans and potatoes are toast. We had real frost. Hope the fruit trees are alright. The potatoes and lemon balm will recuperate, but I have to replant the beans. The poles beans were about five inches high...oh well. Worth trying to get an early crop.

Well, just lit another fire ... so not done yet. It was a cooler wet day today, and I worked out in it, so the fire is nice tonight.

The good news is that I got 5 trees in, lodgepole and douglas fir. They were down from a storm in the fall, didn't have the opportunity to get out there and get them until now, as they are a little harder to get to. Then a college student said "Can I come work with you this weekend, just for fun?" Yessir you can! Good kid, strong, smart, handles a saw well, we got it done well and safely.

Wish I could, he would like Alaska. He helped himself to about half the homemade pie the wife baked, but I don't blame him, it was amazing. Small price to pay, he outworked me without trouble. And he thanked me for letting him!

Yup. Fire lit last night. Sort of rekindled it this afternoon. Feels good in here too. I just came in from splitting. It was nice for that work and being in the sun at the time I had my shirt sleeves rolled up but this time of year you'd more expect the shirt to be off. Coming up, the wind is a bit chilly so it did feel good to come in to the warm house.

Odd forecast tomorrow. A high of 70 with falling temperatures. 40 by 5:00 pm with a low of 39, then rising temperatures. Strange one for sure. Tonight's low is 39.

We did a fire last night and we had one this morning over coffee so being that it's another damp cool day we might have another tonight.

The latest I remember having a fire is on June 6th, but I don't remember what year.
It's Juneuary 1st, and we'll have a fire tonight ........again, as it's due to hit 33.
I'd be fine with a sweatshirt, but with FIL here, he's cold in 80 deg., so a fire it is.
    It's tough having a fire, but I'll manage.:D

Which, to my keen mind, tells me it'll be there tomorrow.
    Wait, today IS Monday, right?
