LOL. My uncle has used a cut down 12 GA shell on the outside end of the spout since I can remember.

I wondered if a 12 would fit over if a 20 fits inside.

Too cause the ones I like have an inner tube for a vent inside ...I think? So a round item won't go in? I have to go look at it and take a pic

These are the decent old cans we have that have a separate vent at the rear of the can. 5 Gal with 12 GA cap and 1 Gal can with after market Webco cap spout. The replacement cap spout (white) is nice but small ID slows the flow rate. That's why it's on the small can for small engines.

Most of our newer cans don't have a separate vent and vent through the spout. I'm not a fan of these. Very slow :picard:The ID of these spouts are about half of the one with the 12GA cap above.

None of these cans empty as quick as the No Spill cans.

I posted this in another thread but this is what I use for bar oil. Built in pour lip works great to see what you're doing with no spillage and the orange color makes it easy to find in the bush ;)

Your new "vented spout" looks like the replacement spout that I got for one of my cans.

Same here, and the few push valves I bought dripped.

That's what I buy. Have a few red ones for gasoline and a yellow one for diesel. Ordered them from Jegs I think. I do use a small no-spill can for premix though and it does work well.

    Edit-I get these:

The cap has a plug you can take out that leaves you with a npt thread. Add a plastic nipple and hose and you have a spout.

You can buy elcheapo detergent if you dont want to buy a small jug of tide. I think you can get similar sizes if not a tad smaller at dollar tree. And walmart sells off brand for just a few dollars. I have used off brand stuff. Its of on "clean" dirty clothes but dont ones you like cut grass and wood in!

The P&G brand fabric softeners (Downy, Gain) also have that "anti-drip" opening on it. I'm pretty sure the best man at my wedding helped develop that package.

I was in my boat shed. I actually have the very same can pictured first here. The so out is broken and the vent cap gone. There is only about 3"s of a pout left.

All this talk about cans reminded me that I really don't like the new vent in spout cans so it got me to looking. I found lots of these on ebay and amazon. Search "Fuel can vent Cap". I ordered a couple to turn my non-vented gas cans into vented gas cans  Anyone else use or tried these?

Here's the how to. Looks simple and effective.

I think my oil drain pan has a vent just like that. It works for the oil pan. With out it , if burps back oil.

Spouts and vent caps are easily replaced, as you can see, those are replacements in the photo. The old vented cans are tougher to find....however after my above post, I'm not nearly as concerned. ;)

Tractor supply sells a kit to replace the spout and includes a vent. I think it's under $10 if I remember right. I've bought 3 so far for my blitz cans and some of the other older ones.

I was thinking of going to TSC for the sale this weekend.

    Was looking at some
Of that super S universal tractor fluid but the specs say only good from like 35-104f which is not good it can her either side of that here. Way more likely to get colder than that than hotter but I have seen both. Bit the stuff is $25/5gallons!!!

Will look at the spouts as well

The can itself is nice...the spout/funnel...not so much. We have to use them for work, its next to impossible to put fuel in a Case skidsteer with them. You have to remove the spout/funnel to fill the can
