Just about any oil will protect a chainsaw at 32:1. Has anyone ever taken their favorite oil out of the safety zone to see just how strong a particular oil really is? Like above 50:1?

One would think that taking an oil close to failure would be easier to ascertain if it truly is a strong oil than perhaps running a rich ratio just to be safe. Maybe that is the performance guy in me talking here but success and failure reside in close proximity of each other.

Maybe we need to buy some earthquake saws and try it.

I'm in. Let me know how much to get started. A group certainly would break the costs and it would be something never done before. Great idea.

I also think a lot of mis-guided or presumed assumptions will be dissolved in a test like this.

This would be something that a GTG could put on. Lot's of witnesses and first hand opinions. It would be the main event of the day! I mean, how many chainsaw nuts get to participate in blowing up perfectly good saws in search of the Holy Grail lol. I bet it would turn out more people to the event than even Goonies to cut with big saws :)

I change oils often. Currently using the Belray H1R at 32:1. I have some Red Armor to try next. Anybody ever tried the Red Armor? Does anybody know if it is full synthetic or not?

I know some people do use the red armor. Supposed to be good oil.

    It's a semi-synthetic.

I believe Red Armor claims to clean carbon etc. from a saw plus provide superior protection. Their claims not mine.
