    Maybe I just have never noticed it missing on other OE saws. Then again it could just be the 99 OE and then updated. I'm clueless and could just be stupid and never noticed it missing on other OE saws.

    Will try and dig up some other OE I have owned and worked on to see.

    Look right under decomp boss or button. That area is usually lowered to clear a cylinder that has been lowered and using decomp.

    I have had saws in with half the bump left where they have been taken down to clear.

    Im just guessin man!! I dont have a clue! I had a ported 262xp and have a MM390xp and redone some older huskies but dont know much more about them. I would like to have a 346 though

    346 on left. This one had a ported top on it that was lowered then a stock cylinder back on it. Pic dont show it but half of O is in half looking like U

    Has to be some kind of update to case. That one is first I have seen missing that boss.

    Wonder if they had spring breaking out the back on the early ones.
