Oh, I have been on this site since before day one, Bubba. I ain't moving along any time soon. I also think I know more about oil than you ever will, so I do not think I have much to learn from you. I suggest you go to... what is that place? Arborsite and post and pick fights there. They seem to thrive on that there. For now I will add you to my ignore file. I suggest you do the same with me. We appear to live in indifferent worlds, and I am sure the mods will come alone and delete these posts here.
Hey u r the one who came along and made 1 little post and thinks everyone should just think your statement was Godsent and shut the thread down and settled the oil debate? Im not arguing with anyone ! If any statement ive made needs to be corrected so be it and ill accept constructive criticisms and learn. U sir r the one whom stepped in with the statements made previous to yours were amusing? Obviously if someone posted them they felt they were worthy to post and to be debated and learned from? I think u r the rude one here
I believe this is the exactely the case. Both R50 and 800 off road are pretty thick, almost as thick as H1R, yet don't have a single issue with tuning. To me, K2 seems like it could be in the same grouping as R50 and 800 off road, I have some and will be looking at how that runs in my stuff soon. If it was a viscosity thing, the tuning issues would be showing themselves across the board, but if its an ingredient or composition thing, we will clearly see a difference ............................ and I believe that most of us that have run many of the different oils have seen this difference. Personally, I do see Dex's point about the ever changing variables with single cuts, but I also see that some intelligent people have contributed to that soap opera of a long thread on "the other site", allowing some very interesting information to come about. All this being said, I value what I see and observe with my own eyes much more than any information that could be (not saying it is, but it could be) "packaged", then presented in a thread, and take that wishy washy lockerroom bantering stuff with a grain of salt. I also appreciate this site for the non-drama posts and the more friendly non-insulting discussions (well mostly friendly non-insulting) that we tend to have.
Makes sense. Sorry if I insulted anyone Mopar. I was only posting my opinions as I surely am not the authority on anything but that guy just pushed my button. Ill keep my mouth shut and just read along. Sorry
I took the muff of my stihl blower the udder day to have a look at the piston...been runnin hp ultra at 50:1 since day 1...piston looked great..plenty of oil..but there was def some residue in the muffler...
I would prefer to hear your opinions and what you think, please don't just read as your opinions are valued, at least by me
When I get home I'm going to grab a pint or quart of yamalube and give it a try. I hope to be able to finish up a 272 and get some runtime getting a load of logs to mill.
Im getting a 266 thats almost like new but has a few stripped cylinder mounting holes that needs threads. Im looking foward to redoing that saw. Converted a 66 to a 272 awhile back that was a strong runner. I like the old series huskies. Im interested to hear what you think on the r2
In a way they're better but when you cut the base some you have to trim the case for them to seat correct.
Without doing several cuts, and running a large amount of fuel through the saw (to actually burn off if going leaner/Pro get more oil in if going richer) the results that RB had come to are to inconclusive. There was good info in that thread though. I'm not saying H1R is the best oil. Heck, it's probably far from it. I just don't see the connection to it slowing down a saw. Especially when we are talking going from a 32:1 to a 40:1 ratio. I'm going to take a picture of how much oil that is and put it in a shot glass. Then imagine that tiny bit in a Full gallon of gas. And that little bit is slowing the piston down. Have you thought about how minuscule that amount is? If we all ran our saws in the Timber Sports series? Maybe it would matter. The ash tree that I cut down 2 days ago? It didn't care at all. Actually, the Carbon Fiber made the saw an extra 10% faster!
Fingers to get them back through the tank. The solid block hits the partition and sometimes the carb will hit the floor where it humps up.
