    I can understand the German saw and beer being readily available, but where do you find the chips?

    Middleswarth is a Pennsylvania brand. It's PA Dutch, which is still pretty much German.

    Backwoods, You're seeing a lack of a splitter. I noodle them into chunks I can move onto my splitting stump.

    Oh yeah. My favorite is Augustinerbrau but you can't get it here fresh enough to taste right.

    You're right. Really does deserve a proper pour in a clean wet glass.

    dgeesaman I love those chips! Everytime we go out to PA we make it a point to buy a bunch of those and bring them home.

    I never used a splitting stump. Just on the ground. And with sledge and wedge, it was faster than with a saw and no wear and tear on saw or chain. No gas used, etc.
