I never used a splitting stump. Just on the ground. And with sledge and wedge, it was faster than with a saw and no wear and tear on saw or chain. No gas used, etc.
My wife thinks thats the only brand of potato chips made... we've hauled them all over the country. Them and Lebanon bologna
